Job Description

Pacers Running Events is looking for a Senior Manager of Events to join a dynamic and busy team. This candidate will have a flexible schedule with the availability to work nights, weekends and occasionally weekdays (the week leading up to an event) when an event requires, as well as a willingness to work in all kinds of weather. The candidate should have at least 3 years experience in running or public events and experience in managing a team.

Responsibilities

Logistics:

  • Oversee all course and event logistics for all races
  • Procure proper equipment for each event, and manage/organize load in and load out
  • Organize and manage credentials (if needed), radio and vehicle plan for each event
  • Organize and manage race weekend build out and breakdown
  • Post-Race load out: certify all equipment returns from event and is organized and stored
  • properly 

Racecourse:

  • Manage event course setup
  • Handle pre-race event course mile mark identification and marking/flagging, ensure course is
  • free from construction, debris, flooding, etc.
  • Race day mile mark installation/certification
  • Race day aid station setup, etc.

Warehouse:

  • POST EVENT: Organize and manage warehouse
  • Create and maintain accurate records of Pacers inventory within warehouse toinclude equipment, signage, store items, race swag, start/finish line equipment, post-race party supplies, etc.
  • Ensure all Pacers equipment is in working order

  • Marketing:
  • Serve as a liaison to the Pacers Marketing team
  • Obtain new client races for Pacers Events
  • Work with the Community Marketing Team on community aspects of Pacers Races

Manage Event Equipment:

  • Manage event equipment which includes signage, water stop supplies
  • (cups/rakes/water/pitchers, etc), race swag, start/finish line equipment, post-race party
  • supplies, fleet vehicles etc.
  • Ensure all Pacers race equipment is in working order 
  • Stage and organize race event equipment the week of an event for loud out
  • Work with team race week to ensure all equipment is accounted for and certify load out
  • Organize and restock race equipment post-race (week after)
  • Inform Race Director in timely manner when inventory is running low and needs replenishing
  • Communicate all necessary information pertaining to equipment condition with Race Director

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of industry experience- public events/running events is preferred
  • Experience managing people/community events
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Thorough understanding of event management
  • Ability to lift at least 60lbs
  • Must have a car
  • Must be flexible with last minute unexpected tasks and assignments (to include deliveries and pick-ups of equipment and materials that need attention)

  • Tactical:
  • Salary: $30 Per Hour
  • This is position is a 1099 contract position
  • Location: Must be located in the DMV area
  • Direct Report: Director, Pacers Events
  • There is a three event trial period, before a full offer is extended. The $30 per hour rate will still apply for the trial period.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
