Benefits Flexible schedule Opportunity for advancement Training & development Role Overview We are seeking Kyrgyz (Kyrgyzstani) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Kyrgyz, a Turkic language spoken in Kyrgyzstan and across Central Asia, is a rare but critical language often needed for asylum, refugee, and immigration interviews. Responsibilities Provide real-time Kyrgyz to English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings. Deliver interpretation with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts. Adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics and confidentiality standards. Manage both scheduled and urgent/surge interpretation requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in Kyrgyz and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, legal, NGO, or government preferred). Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness. Excellent communication skills; ability to stay accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $28–35/hour (rare-language premium).
