Gourmet Catering by Andrew, New England’s premier kosher caterer, is seeking a well-established Boston-based catering company is seeking skilled and dependable Kitchen Expo/ Shipping Assistant support our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments and enjoy bringing high-quality food to life at a variety of venues, from private homes to corporate offices and large-scale event spaces across the Greater Boston area.

Position Summary

As a Shipping & Expediting Assistant, you'll work closely with the Shipping Director and kitchen team to ensure that every catering order is accurately packed, labeled, and ready for timely delivery or pickup. Your attention to detail and efficiency will have a direct impact on the success of each catered event.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the accurate packing and labeling of food and beverage items for delivery and pickup
• Organize and maintain shipping areas, including walk-in refrigerators and dry storage
• Ensure all items are sealed, labeled, and packed according to kosher and food safety regulations
• Gather and include pantry items, paper goods, bar supplies, and any requested extras (e.g., beverages, ice)
• Double-check outgoing orders for accuracy and completeness
• Help load delivery vehicles and relay any special instructions to drivers
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of shipping and packing stations
• Support inventory tracking for dry goods, packaging supplies, and shipping materials
• Follow all food handling and safety protocols consistently

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, food service, or shipping/receiving is preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently and follow directions in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable lifting to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
• Punctual and dependable timing is critical to our operations
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• A team player with a positive and adaptable attitude
