PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist the Intake/Retention Specialist in all activities involving the student intake process: greeting the public, answering the telephone, assisting with intake forms, directing clients to appropriate classrooms and facilitating testing.



TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet students and visitors and direct to the appropriate person, office, or classroom.
• Provide basic and accurate program information in-person and via phone and email.
• Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls.
• Assist public with registration for mandated and enrichment programs.
• Assist with intake, testing, and referral of students to proper level of instruction.
• Enter computer data as determined by the Intake/Retention Specialist.
• Perform duties related to screening visitors as they enter the building.
• Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, emailing and faxing.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of New London Adult and Continuing Education.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite.
• Prior experience with clerical and administrative functions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent customer service.
• Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual
• Knowledge of CASAS testing regulations used by New London Adult and Continuing Education
